The unit Advanced materials and binders at RISE is expanding and looking to recruit a Battery cell design engineer. As we have the ambition to develop a standard battery platform in the next couple of years your expertise and contribution will be very important.

About the role
As a Cell design engineer, you will play a key part in the development of next-generation battery cells by analyzing and validating test data to optimize cell properties. You will work hands-on with evaluating technologies, designing experiments, and iterating on various cell chemistries and forms in both R&D and production settings.
Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing, implementing, and refining cell designs to enhance performance, cost-efficiency, and safety. You will collaborate closely with active material experts and introduce innovative materials that improve energy density, cycle life, and overall reliability. Additionally, you will provide leadership and guidance to team members while reporting progress to management.
Beyond technical development, you will also engage in:
- Project leadership.
- Driving large European projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development by writing proposals, generating offers, and maintaining strong industry relationships
Leading workshops, networking, and staying informed on national and European battery regulations will be essential aspects of the role.
This position may require occasional travel to company manufacturing sites, both locally and internationally, based on business needs. The position is located in Stockholm.

Requirements:
- Experience from successfully led large-scale, innovative, and challenging high-tech projects.
- A relevant university degree in chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering.
- 5+ years of R&D experience from a private company within the battery cell industry.
- Proficiency in making statistically-informed inferences from experimental data and translating them into cell design improvements.
- Fluent speaking and writing in English.
Experience from mechanical cell design is an advantage.
