Business Developer AI Ecosystem and Industrial Engagement
About us
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden is looking for a dynamic and forward-looking business developer to strengthen the Swedish AI Factory Mimer. Mimer is Sweden’s national node in the EuroHPC network of AI Factories, working to accelerate industrial adoption of AI through access to compute, expertise, and collaboration. Mimer focuses particularly on the use of AI in life science, materials science, autonomous systems, and gaming, while remaining open to other sectors where AI can drive transformation in Sweden and across Europe.
The High-Performance Computing Systems group at RISE is a dedicated team of HPC specialists with expertise spanning both traditional applications and newer areas such as AI. The group has extensive experience supporting companies and research teams that rely on large-scale computing, providing user support, optimisation, and training to ensure effective use of advanced compute resources.
About the role
As business developer, you will play a key role in building bridges between AI research, innovation, and industry needs. Your mission is to engage with startups, SMEs, and larger organisations to identify opportunities where AI can create economic and societal value and help turn those opportunities into actions.
Location is Stockholm and we follow a hybrid work model that allows employees to split their working time between the office and their home workspace. Travels occur monthly.
Key responsibilities
Drive engagement with Swedish AI startups and SMEs: understanding their needs, challenges, and opportunities for AI adoption, and help them scope and initiate Mimer projects.
Build and maintain relationships with startup communities, incubators, and accelerators to expand outreach.
Collaborate with Mimer’s technical experts to define and communicate the value proposition of Mimer’s AI services and infrastructure.
Develop partnerships across academia, industry, the public sector, and other AI Factories, to build a thriving national and European AI ecosystem.
Design and implement strategic business and ecosystem development plans that promote adoption of AI and HPC resources.
Represent Mimer at events, conferences, and workshops – building visibility and trust in Sweden’s AI innovation ecosystem.
Support the development of success stories, communication materials, and outreach activities that demonstrate impact.
Keep track of emerging trends in AI and deep tech, translating them into actionable insights for Swedish industry.
Who are you?
We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, innovation, and collaboration - someone who can turn ideas into practical outcomes and help strengthen how Sweden competes and cooperates in the AI era.
Requirements:
Solid experience leading or coordinating projects and initiatives, in tech-driven or innovation-focused environments, with responsibility for planning, execution, and follow-up.
Experience from building or supporting early-stage technology organizations, for example through work in startups, scale-ups, research environments, or innovation teams.
Background in innovation management, such as startup collaboration, ecosystem building, platform thinking, venture building, or open innovation methods.
Some experience with funding processes, whether innovation grants, public funding, or early-stage investment work, and an understanding of how technology projects are financed.
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, with the ability to translate technical concepts — including AI and digital technologies — into clear value for non-technical audiences.
Meritorious:
Demonstrated ability to manage complex innovation or R&D projects, including budgeting, reporting, and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Experience with EU-funded projects is a strong advantage.
Experience developing partnerships and collaborations with industry, academia, or technology providers, and an interest in building long-term relationships across the ecosystem.
As a person you have a collaborative mindset and the ability to work across organizational and sector boundaries, engaging effectively with researchers, developers, industry partners, and public-sector stakeholders. You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are comfortable shaping direction while also contributing to practical execution.
Are we a good match?
Join RISE and help build Mimer – Sweden’s AI Factory, a key hub in Europe’s AI infrastructure.
