You will be a part of the Cybersecurity group that is part of the Division of Computer Science. We are a dedicated team of about 20 people engaged in research, testing and coordination in cybersecurity.
Your role
We are looking for a dedicated PhD student to strengthen our research in the area of Cybersecurity of next generation networks, mainly 6G, and the integration of Non Terrestrial Networks (NTN) into the Telecom infrastructure. This integration gives rise to challenges and research questions. One of the research topics will be secure Path Aware Networking (PAN), to ensure that data packets are routed through the most efficient and safest paths, considering real-time network conditions and potential threats.
The position is for four years. You will be employed by RISE and enrolled in Uppsala University. The PhD education also includes participation in relevant PhD courses. Your work is mainly carried out at our offices in Kista, with the flexibility to also work part time from home.
Your profile
You are driven by curiosity and have a passion for the Cyber security area. You like challenges and are focused and committed to delivering high quality. Taking initiative comes naturally for you and you are also good at problem solving.
As a candidate for this PhD position, you must, at the time of employment, have a Master of Science degree in computer science / computer engineering / information security or related areas. Expertise and experience in cybersecurity will be a significant part of the selection process. Good command of both spoken and written English is required.
